Tesla continues with the expansion of the Supercharger network: in Spain, users already have 74 individual Superchargers spread over 12 stations, with the aim of doubling this number by the end of 2017. There has also been a change of strategy in terms of which will focus more on urban centers with a new network of shippers.
So, from the two new (super) stations it is building in California, the company has promised 1,000 Supercarriers in China by the end of the year. At the moment, the largest station in the world is underway, which is being built in Shanghai, under a shopping mall.
From Reddit we get the first images of this huge cargo station, which will house dozens of superchargers when it is complete. These images make the company's promise to build 1,000 superchargers by the end of the year make sense.
In this video you can see how some units, which seem to be standard, are already placed in the huge parking lot. What is not clear to us is the appropriateness of the situation of the stations with respect to the columns; what is clear is that it will have to be extremely powerful, so much so as to be able to load 50 cars at the same time.
From Teslarati ensure that details about the completion of the works, as well as the exact number of loading stations will be announced later, although 40-60 seats are expected to be located under the International Lilacs shopping center in Dingxiang Road in Shanghai.
Currently, the largest station in the Tesla Supercargadores is in Nebbenes, Norway, a rural city 64 kilometers from Oslo and home to 20 cargo stations. It was inaugurated in September 2016, as you can see in this video.
