HOW TO SELL ON THE INTERNET (EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW)

In other posts I have talked about some ideas to sell online or to have a job from home. I am convinced that never in history has it been easier to start selling (perhaps it is also true that it has never been more difficult to have a lasting company). But ... once you have decided that you would like to sell comes the question of how to sell online? Below I present a step-by-step guide on what you need to know to understand how to sell online.

How to Start Selling Online in 3 Simple Steps

STEP 1 HOW TO SELL ON THE INTERNET: CHOOSE WHAT TO SELL

Selling online is a real way to make money. Is not easy. However, this guide on how to sell online can help you.

The first thing to do for how to sell online is to choose what you want to sell. The good thing about the Internet is that there is a giant market for anything. It does not matter how strange it is.

To choose what to sell you can do two things. Make what you want to sell or buy from a distributor and sell it. If you want ideas of what products are fashionable go here. If you need more ideas just go to alibaba.com (you're welcome).

Once you have chosen what to sell, you must make three decisions: the price, the place to sell it and how to promote it. Do not worry, read on to learn more.

STEP 1.1 HOW TO SELL BY INTERNET: ESTABLISH THE PRICE.

Have you already found what you want to sell? Now follow the interesting. Learn how to sell online. A fundamental part is knowing how to put the price on things.

Do not give it many laps. What you want is to have a profit for the product. The easiest formula to do it is the following. Take how much the product cost you and multiply it by 3. So you will have a very healthy gain of 66.7%. Be careful that the price is not much higher than the competition.

In general, to know how much you should charge do the following: (product cost) * (any number you want) - (product cost). The ideal is to have a margin above 40%.

STEP 2 HOW TO SELL ON THE INTERNET: CHOOSE THE STORE WHERE YOU WANT TO SELL

The exciting thing about how to sell online begins. Choose the store where you are going to do it. For how to sell online there are hundreds of stores divided into two types: own store or third party store.

If you decide to have your own store there are two options: build it yourself or buy a store software. If you build your own store you will have to do the design, programming, hosting, etc. If you buy a store software you will only have to worry about the design.

My recommendation is that you start with a store software. There are several, including Shopify, TiendaNube, WooCommerce (follow this WordPress guide), Magento and Volusion. There are many more, but I recommend these. Choose the one that suits you best (in cost and ease of use).

If you prefer a third-party store for how to sell online, there are several options. These stores serve very well for you to take care of only doing the product (manually or buying it) and leaving a third store infrastructure. The best third-party stores are Amazon, Ebay and Etsy. You can use all three at the same time.

Regardless of the store you choose for how to sell online, you will have to take care of the delivery logistics. To avoid that, there is another alternative: choose a store that does "dropshipping".

With the dropshipping alternatives, you only sell them. Everything else (shipping, logistics, etc.) is handled by the provider. The best example of this is Amazon or Ebay, but in almost any country there are such services. In Mexico, for example, there is Kichink. An additional advantage is that you can create your store without cost.

STEP 3 HOW TO SELL ON THE INTERNET: PROMOTE YOUR STORE

NOTE: In general, when buying advertising on the Internet (which is essential for how to sell online), it is done in two ways: cost per click (CPC) and cost per thousand (CPM). In cost per click, you pay for each click a person makes about your ad. Cost per thousand is paid for every thousand users who see your ad, regardless of whether they click on it or not. Normally, the algorithms of Facebook and Google give priority to ads per thousand.

Once you have opened your store you are ready to start selling. Keep reading this guide to learn how to sell online.
